Top 10 Free Apps for Android

An increasing number of new mobile phones are employing the Android operating system. In fact, it’s booming. It was initially introduced by Android Inc., and Google and has become incredibly popular since it is based on the open source platform. This means that unlike other rigid mobile phone systems, anyone can build applications for Android resulting in a vast number of applications available. While some have cost money, here are my ten favorite Android apps.

For all my Android users out there, what do you think? What are your favorite free apps? Any recommendations??

Kindle:
With this great app you can read your favorite e-book on your phone. Just hope you’re okay with squinting.

The Weather Channel:
Check out on your local weather with this free to download app, or check out weather in different cities if you’re planning a trip and need to decide what to pack.

Barcode Scanner:
Barcode scanner helps you to look up prices and reviews of any product or services. With this application you can easily decode any QR code containing URLs , contact info, etc.

Advanced Task Killer:
This is definitely the best way to manage all your other applications.

TweetDeck:
This is a great application for all the Internet Marketing and Social Media Marketing wizards out there, and it not only supports Twitter, but also works well with Facebook, Google Buzz and Foursquare.

Facebook:
The most visited social network can now be accessed directly on your phone. A recent update adds Chat support allowing users to communicate in almost real time. The application is very fast and stable permitting its users to really enjoy Facebook and spend their time looking at too many random photographs. (Not me. Never.)

Adobe Flash Player 11:
Watching most of video clips just cannot be done without the help of this application. And it’s free!

Free WiFi Finder:
With this free app you can find nearest hotspot to get connected to. Great for travelers and professionals on business trips.

Last.fm:
Although this is a free application, the service of Last.fm has a subscription based mode, too. Regardless, it is still one of the best ways to listen to the music that is streamed and suggested to you according to your past selections.

Gmail:
One of the most popular email services is now easily available on your cell phone. It makes getting your email easier and faster than ever before, and can trick your coworkers into thinking you’re always working.

    Tweetdeck is definitely my favourite Android app. I’m completely hooked to twitter and I constantly need to know what’s happening with my followers. Tweetdeck has an extremely convenient UI, which makes it perfect for me.

    The free wifi finder is awesome! I haven’t had to pay for wifi in a long, long time :P

    Barcode scanner is my favorite app! I can decode any barcode and compare prices of the products. It scans a variety of barcodes on products, books, shipping labels etc. It then gives an option to search the scanned barcode on Google Web Search. This app is very easy to use and that’s what makes it so famous. As I am a Facebook addict, I like the facebook application. I get my notifications; I can view pictures and stay connected always with my friends. It helps me instantly upload pictures. It is quick and convenient as it saves me the trouble to always login to my laptop for face book.

    Android has been known as the most preferred operating system for smartphones and tablets. Because technology has ruled all over the world, people are now dependent on using high end gadgets to meet their errands faster and easier. For me, I find Android helpful in organizing and completing the tasks that I need to be done for the day. With their free applications, doing business and even personal activities are simpler and more convenient. Getting to know the weather for today is no longer that hard through the help of The Weather Channel. I can easily predict if I can go travelling in the next few days or not. Advanced Task Killer will assist me in managing my tasks. These are just few of the numerous free Android applications that can make my day a lot easier.

    I enjoy the kindle app mentioned above. I am an avid reader and when I travel or while waiting at the dentist this app comes really handy in passing time. Angry birds are another favorite of mine. It is a fun game and I can go and on playing it on my phone. Gmail and face book are apps high on utility. I definitely need my mails on the phone so Gmail is a must for me. I can instantly reply and I just can’t do without this app. Face book is another app absolutely necessary to stay in touch and is a must have.

    I totally love the Weather Channel. It’s very accurate and it’s also easy to update. I think I won’t have any problems with what to wear or what to bring outdoors using this simple yet very functional app. It also helps me and my family prepare for barbecues and fun days out. We know just when to take a hike and when to go for a rainy swim!

    I like the Barcode scanner application . Its fabulous. It makes easy to read the printed barcodes.

    Without doubt the Android has done wonders for the mobile phone user today. It is by far the fastest phone and there is almost nothing you can’t do with your android. I can go on and on about the possibilities with the various apps. I use a lot of apps, primarily the youtube and Vimeo for videos. I love watching music videos a lot and I can do that whenever my favorite artist’s track is released without having to wait. I put my favorite apps as widgets, which helps me to access them faster. I also use the SoundCloud.
